1st shift Graphic Artist (Finance)
Establishes consistent standards for the proofing and plating process
Plans and coordinates all production work to maximize the efficiency of the facility, production work force, materials, supplies, equipment, and tools. Additionally, tracks productivity for labor and material costs.
Coordinates the workflow of all jobs in progress. Surveys, troubleshoots, maintains, and updates electronic prepress systems on an ongoing basis,
Maintains hardware and software on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis for the Macintosh workstations and all other equipment found in the prepress department
Works with press operators to achieve consistent high-quality on all projects. Encourages them to analyze and troubleshoot imaging problems as experienced on press.
Researches, tests, and evaluates new hardware, software, and future technologies. Makes recommendations on purchases of various types of prepress equipment and recommends new processes. Advises on strategic planning and future trends as related to prepress,
Works with other departments to resolve image-related problems in new and existing work.
Advises customer service when work is required to prepare customer files for printing. Provides a time estimate for the required work
Keys in copy, traps, and troubleshoots digital files supplied from customer after client approval is granted, directed through customer service department.
Manages own workload on a daily basis, adjusts schedule to compensate for load in other areas of department.
Works proficiently in the required software programs - including, but not limited to: Illustrator, Indesign, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Quark, Esko Software and Illustrator plugins, etc
Communicates and provides education within department, as well as to other departments.
Performs other duties as requested.
