Clinical Pharmacist, Client Services (Finance)



Job Description:

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day work related to the innovative pharmacy solutions that we deploy to our markets. They will be tasked with a variety of outreach and oversight activities related to these programs.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Perform provider, member and pharmacy outreach related to our clinical programs
  • Act as clinical liaison to external vendors that help support our work and perform quality checks on system applications and functions
  • Work closely with Data Analytics team to identify new opportunities and provide clinical insight into identification and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to non-clinical staff performing member and/or provider outreach
  • Assist with new pharmacy program development and implementation
  • Keeps leadership informed of successes, challenges and barriers of the programs when they arise and provides recommendations on logical and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Integrated Clinical Strategy and Pharmacy Consultation team on key initiatives and assuring feasibility
  • Participate in Pharmacy team meetings including New Drug, P&T and other strategic and/or operational meetings as necessary
  • Educates key staff regarding changes in processes/systems

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Pharmacist with doctoral level (Pharm.D) degree with at least 2 years of experience as a clinical pharmacist in an organized health care setting (e.g. Managed care, hospital, etc.). In lieu of doctorate degree, a bachelor's degree (BS) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a managed care setting will be considered.
  • Prior Health Plan or PBM experience desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating with other health care professionals and non-clinicians
  • Fundamental knowledge of drug information process/references and ability to conduct research
  • Strong clinical pharmacy experience including participation in patient management initiatives.
  • Able to serve as a professional, articulate and knowledgeable liaison to internal and external organizations, to foster positive relationships with our vendor/partners, and to appropriately advocate for the corporation.
  • Strong computer skills. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel frequently and independently across New York State and neighboring areas.

Compensation Range(s):

E8: $98,297 - $176,935

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
