About Cloud Management Site Reliability Engineering Role:
HPE Hybrid Cloud Software and Services team is currently seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates for a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) role. The successful candidate will join a team of SRE engineers focused on coaching and partnering with our DevOps teams to ensure delivery of reliable and resilient services for our customers. This position will entail developing best practices for teams developing and operating public services. GreenLake Hybrid Cloud services are built using modern microservice based architectures and are released via continuous deployment methodologies with frequent (often daily) releases.
In this role the successful candidate will work as a member of a team helping service teams to deploy and maintain secure and reliable services, while ensuring the right level of observability is in place to monitor and detect issues. This individual will assist in implementing standard methodologies in the areas of observability, automation, and post incident review.
Note: The preferred location for this position will be Milpitas CA or Roseville CA, though other locations may be possible
Education and Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
Typically 4-6 years experience.
Technical Qualifications:
The successful candidate for this role must have the following:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or compensating experience (see below)
Prior experience with SRE or in a DevOps based role
Desire to help build and support a Service Level Objectives monitoring culture
Exposure to scalable monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana or similar tooling
Experience deploying and managing services running in public cloud infrastructure
Experience defining and managing infrastructure with code – Terraform, puppet, chef, or similar
Understanding of container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
Good analytical and problem solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills including mastery in English
Additional experience as follows is highly desirable:
Direct experience developing and managing Kubernetes services
Experience developing with one or more languages such as Golang, Python, NodeJS, etc.
Experience with microservice architecture, REST, API's, gRPC
