As a Senior Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead a team of mechanical design engineers to develop high-quality products, manage timelines, budgets, and resources, and provide technical guidance.

You will report directly to our Test Eng Manager and you'll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.

Support Honeywell Aerospace, Engines & Power Systems - Test Services to deliver innovative testing solutions that meet the evolving needs of our new products. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation Gas Turbine Engines, Electrical Power Generation, Hybrid Power Systems, and Hydrogen Fuel Cells by designing test equipment and facilities needed to test these products. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs. You will interact with internal customers and external Engineers and Contractors in order to facilitate the completion of test equipment and facilities for product development and production testing. Primary work location is Phoenix Arizona with occasional travel to Suppliers, Contractors, or Customer sites for consulting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute projects for test equipment and facilities.

• Create test facility specifications, estimates, schedules, and CAD designs.

• Support Honeywell Health, Safety, Environmental & Facility HSEF standards

• Propose technical and process improvements.

• Complete facility drawings in Siemens NX & AutoCAD.

• Present designs to leadership and internal customers.

• Follow Project Management methodologies.

• Coordinate with Honeywell HSEF, suppliers, contractors, and City Building Inspectors.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering.

• 6+ years of industry experience with Mechanical Engineering, Facility Construction or Maintenance.

• Applicants must be a U.S Citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S as a refugee or granted asylum.

WE VALUE

• Working knowledge of Health, Safety, Environmental standards.

• Familiarity with applicable building codes and standards.

• Experienced in system specifications, layout, equipment sizing and selection.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, NX, & Microsoft Office software.

• Knowledge and experience with Teamcenter configuration management.

• Ability to collaborate and communicate with engineering teams, system owners, suppliers, and contractors.

• Ability to make critical decisions with a sense of urgency to keep on schedule.

• Capability to follow procedures and guidelines on given project tasks.

• Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.

• Professional Engineer license a plus.

• Working knowledge of compressed air and vacuum systems, cooling towers, electric motors, dynamometers, industrial controls, and fuel storage and distribution.
