Electrical Engineer III (Finance)
Your responsibilities
Position Overview: Position requires an Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 4 years of experience in an EPC environment focused upon delivery of electrical design packages for small to medium sized projects.Experience performing as a discipline lead is a plus. Field experience including startup and commissioning support is desired. Experience in a petrochemical, refining, material handling, cement and / or mining environment is a plus. Projects will be executed in a multi-discipline team environment. Travel (both foreign and domestic) will be necessary as required during design and construction /startup phases. Position reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager Home office location is Greenwood Village, CO Up to 40% travel may be necessary to satisfy project requirementsDuties and Responsibilities: The Electrical Engineer provides subject matter expertise in the electrical discipline. Produces deliverables as required to fulfill project needs either as an individual contributor or aspart of a team of electrical engineers and designers, dependent upon project size and scope.Project electrical deliverables will include but are not limited to:Single Line Diagrams, Loadlists, Equipment Lists, Schematic Diagrams, Junction Box Drawings,Distribution Panel Drawings, Data Sheets, Interconnection Diagrams, Electrical Block Diagrams,Electrical Layout Drawings for Cable Routing, Grounding, Lightning Protection, Lighting, E-Houses,SubStations and Technical Specifications. Assists in the coordination and support of design activities between disciplines to ensure a correctand comprehensive design packages. Serves as a technical contact for client, design team, third-party, and construction contractorcommunications related to electrical design packages. Participates and assists in model, design, maintenance and operability reviews. Ensures compliance with specifications and codes for North American installations. Participates and assists in FATs and SATs for packaged equipment, skid units, E-Houses, MCCs,Switchgears, VFDs, Transformers and UPSs. Reviews and comments on packaged equipment and design drawing packages developed bythird-party suppliers. Assists with third-party supplier interface as required.Checks drawings, specifications and calculations produced by design team, suppliers, and equipment / skid unit providers. Assists Procurement with RFQ and RFP packages to procure electrical equipment as required foreach project. Provides technical input into vendor review and selection process including participation in shop audits.
Your profile
Required Education: Position requires at least a Bachelor's of Science degree in an Engineering discipline. Other Science degrees may be considered based upon work experience in the electrical field. P.E. and/or P.Eng. registration is preferred. Candidates without registration will be expected to obtain within one year of meeting minimum experience requirements.Required Technical Knowledge: The position requires a working knowledge of electrical equipment, project deliverable development, electrical design details for process and material handling projects. Knowledge of NEC, CEC, IEEE, API, ISA, CSA, ANSI and ASME standards.Desired Experience: The experience requirement for this position is a minimum of 4 years in petrochemical, refining,material handling, cement and / or mining industries with projects showing role progressions of increasing responsibility in the execution of successful projects.Additional Qualifications: The successful candidate needs to be proficient using Microsoft Office software and operating in ateam office environment. The candidate will also need to be proficient in communicating throughout the project team and inworking with team members in all disciplines to produce a comprehensive engineering package. Knowledge and use of ACAD is required. Knowledge and use of SmartPlant (SPI, SPEL, SPPID) and E-Plan design tools is a plus. Candidate must be a self-starter with the ability to complete project deliverables with minimal supervision. Must produce project deliverables within project schedule and budget constraints.
