NATIONAL INCIDENT RESPONSE TEAM (NIRT) DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The National Incident Response Team (NIRT), is a national service provider for the Federal Reserve System, delivers effective and efficient intrusion detection, incident response, security intelligence, threat assessment and vulnerability assessment services for the Federal Reserve System. NIRT's mission is to play a leading role in the Federal Reserve System's efforts to protect its information systems against unauthorized use.
POSITION/PROJECT OVERVIEW
Interns will rotate throughout the NIRT sub-teams for broad based exposure to different cybersecurity functions. Each sub-team will have an independent project and provide the interns an overview of their services. Additionally, interns will complete a long term project running the entire 10-12 week engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Working with a team and independently to deliver on short term project goals for each NIRT sub team. Previous short term projects have included: creating an injection lab used to train developers and improve software development practices, setting up and testing a Splunk "Boss of the SOC" environment, automating communication between Cyber services, and mapping application controls to NIST security controls.
