The Maintenance Mechanic assists in maintenance of district steam distribution systems in downtown San Francisco. The incumbent will assist in providing uninterrupted customer service in a safe and productive manner.
Responsibilities
• Maintain, inspect, and monitor in a safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally sound manner steam distribution system (i.e. vaults, customers prems)
• Perform duties involved in system repairs, piping and pipe fitting, and troubleshooting distribution equipment to resolve operational problems
• Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public
• Work with other maintenance personnel
• Perform routine maintenance on a variety of distribution vault equipment, traps, valves, piping systems, etc.
• Comply with required safety procedures such as Lock Out - Tag Out (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Fall Protection, and any other required by law or company policies
• Perform routine cleaning of work area
• Must be able to use corporate software systems such as SAP for functions such as recording daily time, coding time and materials to applicable work orders, order and receive materials, complete expense reports and use online training tools to complete training requirements
• Employee must arrange own transportation to primary work location
