Associate Business Partner (Finance)



Job Summary:
The Associate Business Partner People and Culture provides support in the area of Human Resource compliance, reporting and analysis, implementation and interpretation of policies and procedures, employment law, with a keen focus on and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Essential Functions:
Assist the Business Partner team with applying Federal, State, and Local laws and YMCA of the North policy by providing coaching and consultation to team members and management.
Support compliance processes and initiatives for form I-9 and onboarding documents, independent contractors, unemployment claims, ACA, labor law posters and notifications, data management and reporting, and other compliance needs as determined by legislative and operational changes. Support simple employee relations issues as needed, including investigations, counseling to management and team members, conflict mediation and resolution; support Business Partner team as needed for complex issues
In collaboration with HR subject matter experts, assists branch, camp and program leadership in the implementation of all HR projects including compensation and performance reviews, interpretation of HR policies and operating procedures, and organizational design and development. Support operations by assisting the Business Partner team to provide counsel, resources and training related to diversity, equity and inclusion in employment policies, procedures and practices. Assists with the development, implementation and delivery of HR training. Assist with updating YMCA of the North Team Member Handbook developing and revising new policies as needed. Assists in HR cross-functional projects and initiatives in the areas of HRIS, benefits, training and development, and compensation as necessary.
Relationships:
This position reports to the Director of Employee Relations who reports to the Vice President of Employee Relations and Development. The incumbent interacts regularly with department, branch and camp leaders and team members
Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Industrial Relations or related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of 1 year of Human Resources experience or equivalent experience in the area of human relations and development. Demonstrated ability to deliver difficult messages and provide objective feedback to leaders and team members. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain positive working relationships and advisory experience at all levels. Proven reasoning, analytical, problem-solving conflict resolution skills. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal communication skills, relatability and approachability to all team members, with a keen focus on diversity and inclusion. Strong computer skills including Microsoft office suite, HR systems and reporting. Ability to work independently and be a strong team player.

Work Conditions:
Ability to travel locally to branches and camps on a regular basis. Ability to operate computer keyboard and communicate via electronic messaging and telephone. Ability to work on a computer for an extended period of time.
