Certified Medication Aide (Project Management)
Provides information for the Quality Assurance Committee's weekly and monthly meetings. Documents and reports potential and actual issues that affect quality care and services.
Passes medications and gives treatments according to physician orders and in accordance with facility policies.
Documents care in the CareTracker electronic medical record and/or in other medical record systems.
Notifies the appropriate individuals of medications needed to be refilled.
Maintains a clean and organized medication closet.
Assists residents with personal tasks such as feeding assistance, hydration, toileting, bathing, personal hygiene, transferring, ambulating, grooming, positioning, range of motion, restorative nursing and other activities of daily living.
Assists with psychosocial groups and activities. Provides the setup, encouragement, transportation and direct involvement for activities specific to the resident's interest.
Helps provide nutrition to residents that includes: passing ice, providing snacks, setting the dining room tables, pouring drinks, sitting down with residents to eat, clearing the dining room tables after meals and cleaning them.
Occasionally helps with light cooking, running the dish-washing machine and cleaning the kitchen.
Cleans resident rooms and bathrooms. Cleaning includes vacuuming; dusting; emptying the trash; cleaning toilets, sinks, showers and floors.
Helps clean the common areas, including the living room and dining area, laundry room, nurse station and other areas.
Completes resident and facility laundry. These duties include: retrieving, sorting, washing, drying, folding and returning resident laundry to their rooms. It further includes washing, drying, folding and putting away facility linens and other laundry items.
Maintains personal and staff compliance to all State and Federal requirements including: bloodborne pathogens, hazardous materials, infection control and fire safety.
Monitors personal and staff compliance to Residents' Rights.
Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, as well as a current State Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification. Must be in acceptable standing with the Nurse Aide Registry as applicable.
Applicants must be able to operate cleaning equipment as well as various medical equipment. Medical equipment will include: vital signs machine / monitor, oxygen concentrator, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucometer, mechanical lifts, whirlpool, pages, telephone, copy/scan/fax machine and computer.
