Technical Artist II (Finance)

The Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT) is looking for Technical Artist II to join our Vision and Graphics team. The team develops new techniques for creating and displaying photorealistic computer graphics of people, objects and environments. The Vision and Graphics Lab specializes in developing image-based methods for acquiring shape, reflectance and motion from digital photography and video. The results are computer-generated virtual models that look and behave as realistically as possible.
The Technical Artist II will work to clean up and optimize 3D head scans to meet the lab's output standards. Generally, looking for a candidate with experience rendering the human face and studying anatomy and body language in a wide variety of traditional and digital media. TAII will design processes that minimize the performance expertise needed by scan subjects, with the end goal of maximizing the diversity, continuity, and authenticity **of** an ICT face database. They will work with high-resolution facial data to corresponded with pixel accuracy through face blend shapes with correlated maps, and develops and maintains state-of-the-art facial scan data pipeline. Candidate should have experience using Photoshop and Zbrush, working with rigid and non-rigid mesh deformation tools, and comparable experience 3D painting in high fidelity texturing, shading, and rendering solutions. Experience designing photogrammetry volumes, work with a wide variety of camera brands, lenses, and lighting set ups. Familiar with data management solutions.

Minimum Experience: 2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience and proficiency using off-the-shelf art 2D and 3D development tools. Strong design knowledge and experience creating art assets that meet requirements. Knowledge and a strong understanding of multi-media scripting. Understanding of programming and advanced rendering techniques. Knowledge of character/vehicle rigging and skinning. Demonstrated 3D modeling and texturing skills. Demonstrated content and asset management source control. Knowledge and understanding of the principles of animation. Must be able to meet deadlines and work with direction.
