Operations Supervisor (Finance)



Position Description

PRIMARY PURPOSE: The candidate is responsible for all terminal operations involved in the handling of customer products. This includes responsibility for customer fulfillment, operational excellence, budget control as it pertains to operations, enforcement of all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and direct daily operations of the terminal in a safe, cost efficient and customer focused manner.
  • Use of team work to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work with customer service group to promptly resolve customer complaints and deviations.
  • Responsible for effective supervision of personnel involved in the handling of customer's products by ensuring the product from the vessels, tank cars, and tank trucks is handled with maximum efficiency and minimum cost while maintaining product integrity.
  • Responsible for inputting and completion of orders into computer systems as required.
  • Responsible for preparing, conducting and/or recommending professional training and development for subordinates.
  • Required to be an active member of the terminal leadership in the evaluation and direction of terminal efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Management presence 24/7 to manage incidents, make decisions, drive productivity, customer liaison, security responsibilities
  • Training (various operational, procedural, equipment)
  • Conduct Practical Field Evaluations
  • Assistance to EHS department with various inspections tracking / logging, enforcement
  • Assistance for Maintenance / Engineering with permits, contractor training, contractor management
  • Weekend scale coverage (currently 2 full time KM employees, 1 temp. and another temp training) could reduce 1 temp.
  • Back up order processing / packaging
  • Scheduling of vessels, manpower, trucks
  • Vacation breaking


Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:
Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency

  • Highly Desirable: Two or four year degree any discipline or honorable discharge any branch US military or three years terminal operations/maintenance experience or five years general industrial experience.
Experience / specific knowledge:
  • Knowledge in the use of measuring devices, like gauging tapes, thermometers, tapes measures, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, excel, work Microsoft office and outlook
  • During the probationary period the employee must display an aptitude to learn, manifolds, tank configuration, line systems and pass tests related to this training
  • Must be able to perform basic math skills that will encompass, adding and subtracting fractions, word problems, percentages, mixed numbers, decimals, and basic mechanics
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license to operate pick-up to and from tank farm
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and dependability
  • Must poses strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self motivated with ability to complete tasks with minimum direction
  • Team player
Physical demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 to 60 lbs
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs/ladders
Working conditions:
  • Will be required to wear PPE, steel toed shoes/boots, goggles and respirators
  • Ability to withstand extreme weather conditions will be required to work outside
  • Negotiate uneven surfaces
  • Subject to background check and mandatory drug screen/on-going random testing
  • Other duties as assigned

  • None


Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities: Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:
  • Basic pipefitting will be helpful
