Emerson Automation Solution's Process Systems and Solutions business has a great opportunity for new graduates to develop and implement automation projects using DeltaV in the pharmaceutical industry. DeltaV is Emerson's digital process automation solution that controls the production line of a plant by monitoring, controlling and communicating with equipment like pumps, valves and transmitters. DeltaV is used with Syncade, Emerson's smart operation management software suite for resource management, integrated information, quality requirements and FDA compliance by increasing efficiency, reducing waste and eliminating paper.

Responsibilities

We are seeking highly motivated candidates to work with our subject matter experts on fast paced projects. These projects can last between 6 and 18 months and involve every phase from gathering requirements with a customer to designing and implementing the final automation solution. As an Entry PAS Engineer, you will have an opportunity to work in collaborative, problem solving teams responsible for engineering automation solutions for some of the largest and most complex Pharmaceutical plants in the world.

You will work alongside experienced process and automation engineers to design, implement, test and document automation solutions in an office environment. You will also have the opportunity to work at customer sites in the field by participating in field surveys and assisting with installations, checkouts and startups of PAS systems. By interfacing with customers and fulfilling their PAS automation needs, you can have a direct impact on improving plant safety, reliability and efficiency for top companies in their industries. Improving drug quality for consumers by improving repeatability of the manufacturing process.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree with 3 years of Biomedical Engineering or Chemical Engineering experience. 
  • Previous manufacturing execution, engineering internship or research project experience. 
  • Prior experience servicing customers, clients or internal support where strong communication skills were utilized to understand and translate customer needs to a team.

Preferred qualifications
  • Experience and interest in programming in any scripting languages.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills (served in leadership role in student organization).
  • Minimum of (1) completed course or intermediate experience in Object-oriented programming design and development (i.e. Java, Python, C++, Visual Basic, Ruby, C#, etc.).
