MAJOR FUNCTIONS
This is a responsible technical position that assists the Code Enforcement Officers in the clerical and administrative work of the unit. Duties also include the preparation of paperwork associated with administrative hearings and legal notices. Work is performed under the general direction of the Code Enforcement Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Research code enforcement lien cases for accuracy; prepare draft recommendations for lien settlement; perform research on other aspects of cases as directed.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other City employees and the general public.Create and manage tracking of code enforcement outstanding liens and lien settlements.Coordinate and organize: code enforcement cases, special magistrate hearing minutes, research property ownership and prior violations.Send notices to appear, and prepare cases for presentation to the special magistrate or code enforcement board, whichever is applicable.Perform administrative support functions applicable to the work, e.g. maintain case files, receipt and processing of mail and correspondence, preparing correspondence, developing forms, and entering data into department systems.Provides general information regarding code enforcement functions to: professionals, management, governing authorities and members of the public within the scope of knowledge and authority.Responsible for sending notices and attending bimonthly code administrative hearings.Ability to establish and maintain effective records maintenance and file management systems.Ability to work independently under limited supervision on moderately complex tasks.Performs related work as required.Other duties as assigned by Development Director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.Minimum of one (1) year of progressively knowledgeable administrative support experience with preference for experience in municipal government environments.Working knowledge or obtain knowledge of state and city regulatory requirements in the administration of code enforcement.Ability to type with a minimum of 35 cwpm.Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to learn computer software such as Spillman and Comcate.An equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position may be substituted at the discretion of the Chief of Police.

Summary:
Occasionally Lifting/carrying up to 20 lbs., push/pull up to 25 lbs., twist/turn, climb, reach above shoulder, and reach outward, operate a city vehicle to facilitate travel to training, conferences and assessments.
Frequently Lifting/carrying 10 lbs. or less, push/pull 12 lbs. or less, bending, squat/kneel, stand, walk
Constantly acceptable eyesight (with or without correction) acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid), ability to communicate both orally and in writing, sitting, handling/fingering, and type/keyboard functions.

Work is performed predominantly in an office environment. The position requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis, and routine keyboard operations.Subject to varied work hours and recall during emergencies as essential personnel.
