Responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the protection of life and property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, prevention of crime preservation of the public peace, apprehension of criminals, calls for service or safety issues. Duties are performed as prescribed in departmental directives, standard operating procedures, special orders, and as directed by supervision.
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required. Basic Peace Officers Academy as prescribed by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Council is required.
Six months of Mercy Public Safety experience is required.
Valid driver's license with no serious traffic violations in the past three (3) years, as defined by the hospital insurance provider.
Valid certification as a Police Officer in the state of Ohio is required renewed every three (3) years.
Annual firearms qualification is required.
BLS Certification is required.
