TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking three (3) temporary part-time Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operators to join our team in Miramar, FL.
Summary
As a Traffic Management Center (TMC) Operator, your primary responsibility is to monitor and manage traffic flow, incidents, and emergencies within a designated area or road network. You will work in a centralized control facility equipped with advanced technology and communication systems to ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Real-TimeTrafficMonitoring:
Utilize traffic management software, cameras, and other monitoring tools to observe real-time traffic conditions.
Identify congestion, incidents, and abnormal traffic
Incident Response:
Coordinate with emergency services, law enforcement, and road maintenance crews in response to incidents such as accidents, road closures, or hazardous conditions.
Implement appropriate traffic control measures to mitigate the impact of
Communication and Coordination:
Maintain effective communication with various stakeholders including traffic
control authorities, law enforcement, emergency services, and road maintenance personnel.
Provide accurate and timely information to the public through variable message signs, social media, or other communication channels.
TrafficManagementStrategies:
Implement and adjust traffic management strategies to optimize traffic flow during peak hours, special events, or incidents.
Collaborate with other TMC Operators to share information and coordinate efforts for network-wide traffic management.
Data Analysis:
Analyze traffic data and reports to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities to enhance overall traffic efficiency.
Generate reports on traffic incidents, response times, and system performance.
Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure the proper functioning of equipment, such as cameras, sensors, and
communication systems, through regular checks and maintenance procedures.
Report any technical issues promptly to the maintenance.
Working Conditions:
24/7-365 operations including nights, weekends and holidays on a rotational work schedule. Dedicated technician holiday schedule.
Work in a centralized traffic management center with advanced technology infrastructure.
Required Skills & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus).
Previous experience in traffic management, transportation, or a related field is preferred.
Proficient in using traffic management software and monitoring tools.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Knowledge of traffic laws, regulations, and emergency response procedures.
Analytical skills for interpreting traffic data and making informed decisions.
Able and willing to work a flexible 24/7-365 days rotating schedule.
