HVAC Training & Technical Support (Maintenance)

Reporting to the Director of Training, the Technical Support & Trainer is a key member of the Training and Technical Support team, responsible for delivering technical support, training and development to promote the success of 1) our customers 2) our field sales and operations staff and 3) key strategic initiatives. Listening to our customers and internal users to give technical support and to design and deliver training that satisfies their needs will also be critical to the success of this position. This role will require collaboration with our Field Teams, Factory Technical Advisors, as well as Product Representatives, Marketing, and Strategic Development, so influencing skills will also be essential.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to:

Training:

  • Train customers and employees with a dynamic and engaging teaching style

  • Prioritize training needs based on target user needs and what will improve Company performance

  • Manage our training content creation to ensure high quality content is delivered on time and on budget

  • Oversee the content, keeping it fresh and up-to-date

  • Work with customers and business leaders to ensure their specific training is managed well

  • Maintain training lab equipment and assist with warranty

    Technical Support:

  • Commission commercial HVAC systems

  • Diagnose and communicate the repair of HVAC system issues

  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems

  • Test HVAC systems for proper functioning after repairs

  • Explain HVAC system issues and repairs to customers

  • Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor with customers

  • Complete service reports and documentation

  • Maintain records of parts used and services performed

  • Ensure accurate billing and invoicing for services

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations

  • Keep up-to-date with industry standards and best practices

Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or relevant technical or trade school certification
  • Excellent oral communication skills with a high level of professional confidence
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Demonstrates strong Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with a strong bias for customer service and follow-through
  • Understanding of training and development fundamentals
  • High sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Strong subject matter knowledge
  • Used to working in a fast-paced, fun, and collegial environment
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to create relationships with customers and leaders throughout the organization to drive alignment and support
  • Familiar with training and development technology (e.g., LMS, e-learning content creation, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring
  • Familiarity with HVAC tools and equipment
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and physical dexterity

Candidates with the following will be strongly considered:

  • HVAC product and/or industry knowledge
  • Familiarity with Epicor or Prophet21 is highly desirable
  • Content creation skills
  • Hands-On HVAC experience – residential and commercial
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Spanish language
