Scheduling Specialist
Job Summary: Responsible for performing scheduling duties for patients wanting OP diagnostic services at Mercy Health. Scheduling Specialists are to perform these functions while meeting the mission and goals of the Mercy Health ministry and all regulatory compliance requirements. They will work within the policies and processes as they are being performed across the entire organization.Scheduling and pre-registering appropriate procedures based on physicians orders which also includes selecting accurate medical records for patient safety and providing proper patient instructions while providing excellent customer service. This also includes maintaining a 95% quality rating and meeting appropriate productivity metrics. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma/GED- CRCR obtained within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Education: 2 year/Associated Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Understanding of Revenue Cycle including admission, billing, payments and denials. Comprehensive knowledge of patient insurance process for obtaining authorizations and benefits verification. Knowledge of Health Insurance requirements. Knowledge of medical terminology or CPT or procedure codes.
Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred: Patient Access experience with managed care/insurance and Call Center experience highly preferred.
Full-time, 40 hours per week, days / afternoons, 9a-5:30pm
