Program Engineer, Air Force (Engineering)
Persistent Systems is a growing business that develops Mobile Ad hoc Networking (MANET) wireless radio systems for US Government and commercial applications. The radios are typically worn on the person, mounted to manned vehicles, integrated into autonomous unmanned vehicles, or installed at fixed sites. As a Program Engineer, you will be a critical member of our Air Force Team based in Fort Collins, CO. You will support our Air Force tactical communications program and provide senior technical support for existing programs involving Defense, Communications, Security Forces, and Convoy Operations. You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our Engineering department as you strive to solve problems. You will be integral in supporting program development as you will have insight into customer challenges and program needs and will work closely across the entire Persistent Systems team including Engineering, Operations, and Quality. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborating with the Government Systems Program Office (SPO), Persistent Engineering and Forward Support teams to resolve complex technical issues escalated from customer locations
• Developing technical solutions using the DoD Systems Engineering Processes
• Conduct Feasibility Studies for system modifications to identify impacts, issues, and risks
• Provide system schematics, network diagrams, drawing tree and system drawings with computer-generated models
• Provide Configuration Management oversight and coordinate Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) through the configuration control process
• Oversee System Testing for ECP modifications
• Knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cybersecurity Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation processes
• Development of maintenance plans detailing maintenance level for each component of the system
• Build customer relationships with program clients through managing and interpreting their requirements and conveying progress to management team
• Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to evaluate and maintain program objectives
• Work closely with Persistent Engineering by providing feedback from information gathered during program activities
• Communicate Persistent Systems solutions to technical and non-technical clients and end-users
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent demonstrated experience in one or more of these disciplines
• Understanding of technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, RF propagation with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
• Understanding of networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architectures
• Experience with ground, air, and tactical dismount communications and operations
• Experience with software packages such as Visio, Microsoft Office, Project, and Solidworks
• Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time
• Must be able to obtain a Secret US security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Masters degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or Masters degree in Business Administration
• DoD RMF and Cybersecurity experience
• Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
• Experience working directly with customers and end users
• Experience working with customer organizations such as large sized Government entities
• Proficiency in advanced technical software packages such as Solidworks, and MATLAB
• Active Secret US Security Clearance
