Info Security Specialist - DFM (Finance)
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Must have demonstrated knowledge of and competence in the application of security to advanced IT systems and at least 3 years of specific experience in information security, information technology, IT auditing, IT compliance or related field. Strong technical writing experience is required, as well as demonstrated ability to research and formulate recommendations on complex IT and compliance issues. Also requires knowledge of general IT security theory and practices. Must be familiar with the laws and regulations governing all aspects of IT security as it relates to the government. Working knowledge of FISMA requirements at the Board is highly desirable, as is an understanding of how FISMA applies to the unique nature of the work performed in the Management Division (i.e., facility operations, law enforcement, financial services, and human resource administration). Incumbent should be familiar with basic project management tools such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office. Requires a strong customer service philosophy, commitment to teamwork and the ability to lead small projects. Must have demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting critical deadlines.
Consults with senior team members in resolving problems. Discusses difficult, unusual, or precedent setting issues with senior staff as they arise. Guidelines include applicable security-related legislation and regulations, and current policies. May take direction and guidance from other senior team members.
Assists in the development and evaluation of courses of action related to problems and issues or conflicting requirements. Assists with the preparation of complex quality control, procedural, and technical specifications that require the development of interrelationships of multiple security systems.
Communications are with senior information assurance staff, individual clients in the Management Division and the Division of Financial Management, and technical working groups. Assists with the organization of planning meetings for new and existing projects; coordinating new requirements mandated by statute or regulation, and coordinating the development of holistic security systems across a diverse clientele.
