North America Business Development Manager (Marketing)

The Business Development Manager is ultimately responsible for developing a solid portfolio a strong pipeline of growth projects with existing or new products. The growth of new business in this region will be based on existing market/customers but mainly on developing customer portfolio and new applications.
Success will be measured on the size and quality of new identified customers and growth projects as well as captured and forecasted growth for own perimeter.
Region to cover is North America with a strong focus on Canada and East USA.
Location: Detroit as preferred location
Develop and deliver customer and opportunity (min 60% of the time)
Identify and develop new customers with existing or new products or new applications of existing products at customers. Grow GBU business unit presence in the region and identify potential new market.
Promote at various level of a targeted customer a single unified composite portfolio solution (thermosets and thermoplastics) including associated process and ecosystem. Being recognized as solution provider in the area.
Identify, recommend and/or acquire innovations and new technologies which are strategic for the business. Generate customer and end-user insights and translate into new product development and financial opportunity assessment.
Work collaboratively with the Business Development team, R&I, Product Development and supply chain to ensure strong cross-functionality, focus and execution.
Lead and Coordinate project execution for business capture (40% of the time)
Coordinate and deliver the pipeline of initiatives and projects with customers.
Drive cross functional team through various milestones of business capture:
Identification, Sizing and validation of the opportunity
Business capture plan and milestones identifying decision maker
Negotiate and Securing the opportunity
Execution and first sales
Smooth transfer to sales team
Manage portfolio of development projects for customers

Bachelor's Degree preferably in Business/Marketing or Engineering
Fluency in English
5+ years of experience in a commercial/business development position
Ability to travel 50-70% (domestic/international)
Strong Marketing capabilities
Ability to deal with legal documents (review, provide guidance and coordination with our legal department) and to create a business case
