Experienced Investment Banking Associate - Chemicals (Finance)

Piper Sandler is currently seeking an experienced analyst for our Chemicals team (formerly the Valence Group) in New York, NY.

Our Associate position offers a unique opportunity for ambitious professionals seeking to play a meaningful role in our continued growth, while gaining significant experience in transactions. The Associate is responsible for executing transactions, and typically functions as a backup for relationships with important clients, are generally the key contact for some clients, and begin to assume some important new business responsibilities. Additionally, the associate position lead and direct analysts and are responsible for the content and accuracy of analysts' work. This role will have significant international deal exposure in all geographies (North America, Europe, Asia, Middle East, Latin America and Africa) and will interact and collaborate with our colleagues in London.

Candidates for this position must have:

  • Exceptional work ethic and a high level of enthusiasm, initiative and leadership potential
  • Prior work experience involving financial analysis or transaction execution
  • One or more years of investment banking experience required
  • Advanced degree in finance preferred, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to develop rapport with existing and potential clients
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and financial modeling
  • Highly motivated, team player with an ability to learn in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • M&A modeling, M&A process and M&A pitching experience strongly preferred
