Daniel J. Edelman Holdings
Senior Vice President, Western Region DEI Lead (Finance)
Edelman is seeking a Senior Vice President with a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) communications background to lead Edelman's Western Region DEI client offering, working closely with teams based in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle.
Edelman is a leading global communications marketing firm, with more than 5,500 employees in 65 cities worldwide. We work with some of the world's best-recognized brands across the food and beverage, tech, retail, financial services, B2B and health sectors (among others). We help our clients communicate their most pressing business successes and challenges to a wide stakeholder set, ultimately expanding their corporate reputation.
Core to corporate reputation is DEI communications, which we see as a business imperative for both our clients and our firm. In order to remain competitive and build loyalty among internal and external stakeholders, DEI efforts must be seen in addition to being heard. At Edelman, we believe that diversity of all types-race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, background and experience-enhance our vibrant work culture and help deliver stronger business results. By establishing a more diverse workforce, we are better equipped to develop innovative, creative campaigns that reach and resonate with our clients' increasingly diverse customer and stakeholder bases.
You'll be joining a team of dedicated professionals who equally enjoy being on the forefront of business challenges and driving client results as much as they do working with each other. This is a collaborative, supportive environment in which to develop the next phase of your career. At its core, Edelman is an entrepreneurial agency - a boutique at scale providing the opportunity to build your own path within a diverse, global environment.
Overview of the Role
We are seeking a Senior Vice President who specializes in DEI communications to support remits across multiple clients - a seasoned leader with a strong corporate communications or integrated marketing background from either an in-house setting or a communications agency with a proven track record of success.
You will be a key leader within our Corporate Affairs team. You will demonstrate the skills and behaviors needed to build culture, up-level client work, expand our collective capability and drive growth. You are a big-picture thinker, but also able to turn big ideas into action. You are comfortable leveraging any channel in the marketing mix and have proven expertise in media relations. You demonstrate superior communication skills, charisma and executive presence. You are hungry to learn and evolve personally, and undaunted by change or complexity. You will work with your colleagues across Corporate Affairs as well as with your peers across the agency including our Brand, Digital, Planning, and Creative teams.
You have a proven background in communications, with people management, business development and budget management skills. You have a strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and work from both client and agency perspectives. You have a track record of leading profitable programs that have advanced client business goals. You are a superb people manager, enjoy coaching and mentoring junior staff, and have experience successfully managing resources and budgets as well as winning new business.
