Supervisor-Justice Team (Full-time Remote, North Carolina Based) (Legal)



The Supervisor-Justice Team coordinates with DMHDDSUS and DAC and supervises DAC Priority Re-entry team to ensure that all state allocation and contract requirements are met for serving the carceral SMI population referred by DAC to the Priority Re-entry program.   The Supervisor-Justice Team oversees the coordination of FACT team referrals and Transitional Support funds. Additionally, the position either leads or coordinates with our Project Management Office for the development and tracking of project plans specific to both DAC Priority Re-entry and FACT teams.  

This provisional position that dependent on State funding and reviewed annually. This position is full-time remote and the selected candidate must reside in North Carolina within 40 miles of one of the counties within the Alliance catchment areas (Mecklenburg, Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Harnett, or Cumberland).

Responsibilities & Duties

Provide Direct Professional Supervision of Team Members

  • Provide opportunities for at least monthly case reviews with feedback, coaching, and guidance
  • Ensure appropriate collaboration is occurring for complex member needs 
  • Provide mentoring of team members
  • Provide feedback to the team and supervisor about member experience, including gaps and strengths in services to meet the needs of the members

Oversight of DAC Priority Re-Entry, FACT Teams, and Project Management

  • Oversight of coordination of FACT team referrals received from DAC Priority Reentry Care Coordinators, Community Supervision, and other referral sources
  • Ensure FACT referrals are to the most appropriate services
  • Supervise and develop workflows for staff providing DAC Priority Re-Entry Transitional Care functions and FACT referrals
  • Develop project plans and track project details to ensure effective program administration for both DAC Priority Re-entry and FACT teams
  • Form and/or participate in teams with required expertise for effective completion of projects, document resources, dates, and goals
  • Generate and manage timelines and list of tasks that describe the project in detail and plot important dates, milestones, meetings, and prospective completion dates of projects related to FACT and DAC Priority Re-Entry teams  
  • Develop strong relationships with team members and external stakeholders (DMHDDSUS, DAC, FACT Teams, Community Supervision, forensic or post carceral providers) and serve as a link between the stakeholders
  • Prepare and submit state required reports for DAC Priority Re-entry and FACT teams
  • Prepare and present reports on a regular basis to management 
  • Conduct regular meetings with team members and external stakeholders to discuss the status of Justice Involved projects and recommend changes and improvements to achieve desired results

Internal Consulting

  • Enhance project execution for Priority Re-entry and FACT teams through development of strategic recommendations & guidance for sponsors 
  • Enhance development of solutions that address project needs through use of research
  • Regular review of policy papers, state contract requirements, policies and procedures

Team Operations

  • Accountable to ensure organized workflows that contribute to staff understanding of their roles and responsibilities 
  • Evaluate that the department has the needed tools and resources to achieve organizational goals, positive member outcomes, and support employees and ensure compliance with licensure, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, with recommendations and advocacy for the appropriate resources
  • Ensure that the activities of the Care Management Department are properly and professionally documented within the electronic medical record platform per documentation standards for placement trackers, documentation notes, as well as internal and external email communication
  • Provide clinical oversight for teams, identifying when escalation is necessary or when referral to other care team members is warranted and offering supervision on difficult cases
  • Oversight of DAC Priority Re-entry Transitional funds for support of member transitions
  • Identify and build rapport with community stakeholders and resources to support re-entry such as jail and prison staff, county coalitions and advocacy groups, parole office agencies, rehabilitation & reentry services, transitional housing, and other resources to reduce recidivism and steer away from involvement with the criminal justice system

  • Work to resolve conflicts and disputes, ensuring that all participants are given a voice

Travel

  • Travel between Alliance offices, attending meetings on behalf of Alliance, participating in Alliance sponsored events, etc. may be required
  • Travel to meet with members, providers, stakeholders, attend court hearings etc. is required

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

Required:

Master's degree in human services or related field and two (2) years previous experience working in a clinical setting with one (1) year of experience managing projects. Two (2) years of previous leadership experience consisting of supervising a team of direct reports is required. Behavioral health experience is required.

Must be fully or provisionally licensed in the State of North Carolina as a RN, LCSW, LMFT, LCAS, LCMHC, LPA.

Preferred:

Above qualifications but with two or more years of experience in Organizational Development, Project Management, or Business Administration and criminogenic or criminal justice experience. 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to utilize computer equipment and web-based software to conduct work
  • Ability to interact with various office staff as needed to support necessary workflows
  • Ability to interact with healthcare professionals, patients, their families and other supports
  • Ability to communicate effectively to individuals and groups through spoken, written and electronic media
  • Ability to attend to detail, effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently without a high degree of supervision

Employment for this position is contingent upon a satisfactory background and MVR (Motor Vehicle Registration) check, which will be performed after acceptance of an offer of employment and prior to the employee's start date. 

Salary Range

$77,868 -$101,228/Annually

Exact compensation will be determined based on the candidate's education, experience, external market data and consideration of internal equity.
