Follows guidelines as established by the ARRT, ODH, and ACR. Performs all diagnostic MRI, CT, or diagnostic
radiology exams according to established policy and procedure for interpretation and subsequent evaluation and
treatment by attending physician. The technologist will be required to rotate between all CMHP facilities. Rotating call,
shifts, weekend coverage, and holiday duty are required for this position. Due to the nature of the services and care
provided at this institution, personnel may be requested to serve in related capacities as determined by their
qualification in a different unit, department, and campus, in an effort to not disrupt patient care and continue to provide
a safe environment to our patients.
Performs all diagnostic MRI exams and procedures. Procedures include, but not limited to, head, spine,
extremity, abdominal and some surgical procedures. May be required to perform diagnostic radiologic
procedures. Prioritizes exams on inpatients, outpatients and ED patients. Travels between CMHP facilities
and prioritizes exams.
Obtains patient history, explains exam, and addresses patient concerns. Administers contrast according to
policy. Operates imaging equipment in the prescribed manner by setting proper technique, parameters, and
protocol.
Reviews and evaluates completed tests for quality, completeness and type of test ordered; ensures quality
images. Completes paperwork timely. Uses PACS to send images for interpretation and storage. Able to
print images or burn CD on request.
Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement, safety,
environmental and infection control standards. Enhances professional growth and development through
participation in educational programs, current literature, and inservices. Maintains continuing education
credits to meet licensure requirements.
Transports patients to procedure room. Assures patients are free of devices or artifacts that would interfere
with magnetic field. Prepares and maintains room. Provides service in a timely manner. Contacts service if
indicated. Orders and stocks supplies.
Follows rules and regulations pertaining to ODH QA program 3701:1-66, ODH Radiation protection
standards 3701:1-38, ODH licensing requirements 3701-72.
Required Minimum Education: Vocational/ Technical Degree
Specialty/Major: Radiology
Preferred Education: 4 years/ Bachelors Degree
Required: ARRT Registered, Ohio Licensed Radiographer; BLS
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Previous 6 months experience as a radiologic technologist preferred
