Assistant Digital Editor, Runner's World & Bicycling (Creative Design)
Hearst Digital Media's Enthusiast Group is seeking an Assistant Digital Editor for its cycling and running brands, Bicycling and Runner's World. Reporting up to the Senior Editor, this person will be responsible for originating, creating and editing a high volume of buzzy, lively, funny, authentic topical stories arising from each sport's culture, personalities, events, and gear scene, as well as working on longer and more in-depth service stories, and gear roundups. The editors will work closely with the Senior Editor and Director of Content Operations to perform against metrics and continually changing group goals. The ideal candidate combines an affinity for cycling and running — though a deep passion for just one is acceptable — with knowledge and experience in research, reporting, fact-checking, and writing. The role is based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Responsibilities:
Work with the senior editor and director of content operations to originate, plan, create, and publish cycling and running-oriented content in line with performance metrics
Stay abreast of developments, breaking news, trends, new gear, and the latest in all aspects of cycling and running
Requirements:
At least one year of experience writing and editing content or research, reporting or fact-checking; bonus points if that was in cycling, running, or active media
An affinity for cycling and running
Must be able to manage feedback from multiple parties and deal with fast-changing priorities
Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines
