We are seeking a Pediatric PACU RN to: - Responsible for independent peri-anesthetic management of complex varied surgical and procedural inpatient/outpatient pediatric populations. - Care for a varied case load of surgical and procedural patients. Education: Preferred - Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university preferred. Work Experience: Minimum - One (1) year of recent inpatient pediatric experience in an academic medical center OR one (1) year of recent independent adult PACU/ICU/IMC/ED /General care experience. Preferred – - One (1) year of ICU/IMC nursing experience - One (1) year pediatric PACU/Pre/Post experience - One (1) year of recent independent adult PACU/ICU/IMC/ED/General care experience - Successful completion of the LEAP program for Pediatric positions only. Licenses and Certifications: Minimum – - Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Wisconsin. - CPR certification. - PALS & ACLS certification within 6 months of hire. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Knowledge regarding quality improvement and standards of care within practice area. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to effectively delegate and supervise the work of other nursing team members - Good customer relation skills. - Dependability On Call Responsibility • Call response time of 60 minutes (60 minutes from phone call and reporting to charge nurse) Physical Requirements: Medium: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. W ork Schedule: 100% FTE (40 hours per week). 8 hours shifts. Monday - Friday, hours vary between 11:30 am - 11:00 pm. Weeknight and weekend on-call required. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
