Responsible for all aspects of Transit's financial performance.
Participate as a key member of the leadership team and play an active role in all financial and operational aspects of the business.
Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting strategic and operational financial results including revenues, margins, operating model/footprint, capital management and market share.
Oversee long-term budgetary planning, cost management, risk analysis on potential investments to meet our strategic plan objectives (e.g., capital allocation, new facility openings, potential acquisitions, and collaborations with external organizations) and advise the CEO with regard to investment risk and return.
Develop and communicate the drivers of the annual plan: revenue expectations, capital availability, market influences, customer expectations, and corporate aspirations - ensuring linkages among planning, strategy, and corporate goals.
Influence the strategic and tactical direction of the business by providing insightful and timely business analytics.
Oversee annual budgeting process to ensure business goals are met or exceeded.
Partner with operational and corporate leaders to complete financial analysis in an effort to identify trends, threats, and opportunities and as an outcome, deliver strong business results.
Create and supervise performance management routines that will monitor progress against agreed plans and implement corrective actions to keep the plan on track.
Provide leadership to the North American Finance group and establishes a talent development plan to grow and develop the capabilities within the function.
Partner with M&A to identify, evaluate, and conduct due diligence on potential acquisitions, and integrates those into the business as appropriate.
Ensure the efficacy of the control environment and lead the effort within North America to ensure required compliance.
Collaborate with other Group CFOs, and corporate functions to support future growth of the North America and the overall operating group.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA, CA or CMA is preferred.
A successful track record of developing and sustaining deep relationships with significant stakeholders is essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills that facilitates teamwork across the organization
Confirmed experience delivering strong financial results in a large scale, diverse matrixed environment.
A convincing track record of building, installing and continuously improving systems that support a strong operational finance capability in the areas of modeling, budgeting, financial analysis and planning and accounting.
Proven experience with growth through M&A and competitive contracting environments.
Significant experience working with senior teams/executives.
Experienced in leading and managing tax and treasury teams.
Experienced in insurance reserve analysis and accounting; engagement with risk management professionals and actuaries.
Established experience ensuring strong working relationships between finance and operating teams.
Strong business and financial acumen and understand the levers on both the operational and financial sides of the business.
A strong tactical focus emphasizing the production of immediate results while developing and implementing sound long-term, strategies.
A strong sense of urgency and bias for action with the capability to achieve plan targets and turn-around struggling indicators.
Knowledge of the transportation industry is a plus.
Experience in an international company with a UK parent is a plus.
