The Safety Auditor is responsible for conducting safety audits for all North American operations. This role will ensure each Customer Service Center is audited per our Global Standard. This position will coordinate with Area Directors of Safety and field management to improve safety processes by identifying opportunities for improvement and partnering with operations on action plans to address deficiencies.
Position Responsibilities Include:
Administer facility safety inspections and program audits to ensure compliance with Company policies and all federal, state, provincial and local regulations.
Analyze audit findings to determine needs for policy revamping or refined safety training.
Conduct routine safety audits to ensure audits are completed as required by the Global Safety Standards.
Audit will review on-going compliance of Company programs and policies including:
DOT Compliance
Drug and Alcohol Compliance
Employee selection processes
Driver Training
Child Check/Passenger Check
Route Risk Assessment
Vehicle Safety
OSHA Regulatory Training
State/Contract Required documentation
Completes audit work-papers by documenting audit results/findings
Communicates audit findings; developing an audit report, presenting findings with local and region leaders.
Assist local team in developing action plans to address noted deficiencies.
Conduct special project as requested by Vice President, Safety Compliance.
Position Requirements Include:
A minimum of three years' occupational safety and health experience in the ground transportation industry.
BA/BS in Business, Industrial Safety, Engineering or equivalent experience preferred
Ability to recognize hazards/risks and implement corrective measures
Audit/legal compliance experience preferred
Attention to detail, documentation and thoroughness
Well-developed communication, interpersonal, and training skills
Must be able to travel, position requires approximately 75% field work
Strong computer, analytical and organizational skills
