Installer (Maintenance)



1.            POSITION SUMMARY

              

The Installer position is responsible for carefully and efficiently loading, unloading, and installing project materials and goods at client locations while providing friendly customer service.
 

2.            POSITION EXPECTATIONS

  • Performs basic installation functions, such as carrying and lifting, crating or uncrating product, assembling panels and components, cleaning and detailing, installing locks, etc.
  • Accurately pulls, prepares, and stages product and materials; assembles and levels furniture according to manufacturer instructions
  • Inspects product thoroughly for concealed damages and reports any findings according to company procedure
  • Carefully handles, lifts, carries, loads, secures, and unloads materials, products, and tools on and off box trucks between storage locations and client worksites
  • Mindfully shows care at worksites, including responsible treatment of client property and facilities:
    • Ensures a professional finish at worksites by reasonably tidying, cleaning, and picking up debris;
    • Cleans and wipes down all product, empties drawers (except instructions for customer), and removes tape and packing materials;
    • Maintains no damage to client property or goods, whether item is preexisting or part of installation;
    • Participates in a tidy workspace by removing trash, obstacles, and hazards throughout the workday;
    • Confirms no product, materials, or tools are unintentionally left behind at worksite
  • Maintains and uses company equipment appropriately, responsibly, and safely without damage or loss
  • Uses safe and careful carrying and transportation techniques at all times, especially while carrying on stairs or performing a team lift
  • Maintains clear and timely communication with team lead, including updates and concerns
  • Builds a familiarity with the company's product, including brands, specifications, finishes, and descriptions
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
     

3.            SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

              

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

4.            MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

              

Education, Certifications, and /or Licenses:
 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:
 

  • 6 months' experience in an installation or construction role preferred
  • Experience in wholesale workspace furniture industry a plus

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of safe use of tools and equipment
  • Proficiency with basic math skills
  • Ability to read measurements, installation instructions, and furniture layouts
  • Ability to work irregular hours, extended shifts, and weekends as needed
  • Possesses consistent access to reliable transportation that can accommodate varying start times
  • Proficiency with PCs and basic computer software
  • Excellent presentation, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team; willingness to roll up sleeves and help the team
  • Ability to manage and organize time to meet objectives and deadlines

5.            PHYSICAL DEMANDS

                             

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be required to do the following:

  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps
  • Perform activities such as balance, bend/stoop, crouch, kneel, push/pull, reach, squat
  • Move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments
  • Remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Move about to accomplish tasks or move from one worksite to another
  • Adjust or move objects up to 2,000 lbs. in all directions using proper lifting technique and equipment
  • Lift up to 100 lbs. unassisted
  • Operate machinery, power tools, and standard warehouse material-handling equipment
  • Operate motor vehicles
  • Communicate with others to exchange information
  • Repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Assess the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work

6.            WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the associate regularly works in a fast-paced, noisy, non-temperature-controlled environment, varying between internal warehouse environments, delivery vehicles, outdoors, and internal/external client locations.
 

7.          COMPENSATION
 

  • Wage range: $19.00 – 21.00 per hour, paid on a biweekly basis
