Senior Accountant (Project Management)
Provide detailed and timely reports to the executive and leadership team as required; maintain open and frequent levels of communication with management to ensure coordinated and productive business operations
Review and recommend policy and procedures to prevent and minimize financial loss to the company, in accordance with federal, state or local laws, regulations and civil practices.
Delegate, manage, train, and evaluate performance for the Accounting team
Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of processing biweekly payroll for approximately 400 employees utilizing KRONOS software
Review the accuracy for all payroll related data necessary to process and meet appointed schedules designed by our payroll vendor
Understand the payroll processing system and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and locale wage and tax laws
Manage and review business-related expense accounts and reporting to ensure all payments are funded from the proper sources and with correct authorization
Supervise the review and handling of retroactive pay adjustments, employee deduction refunds, and other miscellaneous payroll transactions
Provide oversight and guidance in resolving vendor disputes and discrepancies as well as processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and mail and cash receipts
Complete quarterly Federal and State tax payments and filings
Maintain a strong knowledge base through professional development, training and continuing education, as well as through a network of contacts within the Goodwill of Monocacy Valley service area, regional, state and national settings as appropriate as well as with other Goodwill affiliates

Clerical tasks including filing, scanning, faxing, and copying
Provide administrative support to management, other departments, and employees as needed
Qualifications
Associate's degree or equivalent years related experience and/or training
Knowledge and understanding of accounting software, Sage 100 (MAS 90) a plus
Must have a working knowledge of accounting best practices and end to end payroll cycle
Not-or-profit experience a plus
Prior payroll processing experience required; KRONOS system a plus
Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft applications; especially intermediate to expert proficiency for designing and understanding Excel spreadsheets with complex formulas
Ability to multi-task and work effectively under specific time constraints
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively interact with all branch and company personnel and correspondents while maintaining confidential information
