Purpose: Provide support for functions of the Purchasing Department

           

Essential Job Responsibilities:

Performs a variety of routine Purchasing including sorting, matching, and filing according to specific instructions.

  • Works in-office
  • Maintains various records and logs.
  • Prepares, reviews and tracks purchase orders through the purchasing process.
  • Inputs changes into the purchasing system, including purchase orders, price changes, and system updates.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal customers. 
  • Prepares, updates and completes reports as required. 
  • Requires attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. 
  • Requires accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Familiar with ISO procedures. 
  • Special projects as assigned. 
  • Computer literate. Microsoft Office Suites/ERP 
  • Establishes, maintains and updates filing systems. Able to retrieve information as needed. 
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision with excellent attention to detail. Utilizes PC, calculator, and other standard office equipment to record, store and retrieve information. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervision: Reports to Purchasing Manager

Education/Experience:

An associate's degree or higher and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication Skills/Requirements:

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Ability:

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

 Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

None

Physical Demands:

Position requires frequent amount of sitting, talking on the telephone.  Requires frequent hand-eye coordination for computer work along with close clear vision at 20 inches or less.  Occasionally requires lifting up to 25 lbs.

Onsite office
