Maintenance Supervisor (Finance)



Overview

Location: Martinsburg, WV

Pay is dependent upon experience and will be discussed during the consideration process

The Industrial Maintenance Supervisor oversees mechanical maintenance employees and contractors, ensuring the plant is well-maintained. This role requires completing work safely, efficiently, and on time, while following environmental regulations and budget constraints. Flexibility in scheduling for outages and business needs is essential. This position supports a good standing in the community, sustainable operations, and adheres to and upholds all company policies, safety standards and federal / state regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support Plant Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Assign tasks, ensuring availability of tools and materials for efficient and safe work.
  • Supervise field operations to enhance efficiency of direct reports.
  • Provide technical expertise for mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Assist in developing weekly manpower schedules.
  • Coordinate resources to promptly resolve emergent issues.
  • Manage mechanical backlog in CMMS, prioritizing work orders for optimal results.
  • Prepare employees in advance for assigned jobs.
  • Aid in developing a 3-year maintenance cycle, including budget and turnaround activities.
  • Evaluate spare parts availability and recommend stocking levels.
  • Establish a proper storage system for pre-works and parts.
  • Stay updated on new technologies related to mechanical work.
  • Be proficient in SAP, Word, Excel, and relevant programs.
  • Implement mechanical improvements based on corrective actions or requests.
  • Oversee the work of external contractors for compliance with plant policies.
  • Ensure effective communication among employees using radios.
  • Control break and lunch times.
  • Enforce plant-specific policies (No Smoking, LOTOTO, PPE).
  • Recommend changes to job plans to Maintenance Planners.
  • Execute planned work schedules with assigned resources.
  • Promote Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Perform any additional duties to support the organization's Vision and Values.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening which may include a physical, background check, and drug screen.

Education:

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Technical knowledge and certifications
  • Associate degree or related certifications
  • High school or GED Required

Area of experience

  • 5 years of experience in cement manufacturing or heavy industry
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Strong mechanical skills; skilled tradesperson background necessary
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Good understanding of metric and standard units of measure
  • Strong analytical skills for mathematical functions
  • Intermediate computer skills; experience with Microsoft Excel and SAP preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and maintenance plans
  • Quick learner through training and work experience
  • Motivated team player capable of meeting tight deadlines
