LearnWell is currently looking for our next creative and passionate teachers to fill a full- time ten(10) month teaching position in New Castle, DE. General Description:

The certified teacher will work in a unique substance abuse treatment center; which involves working with child and adolescent students in a small classroom setting and supporting them academically with common core subjects while they are receiving treatment.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver daily lesson plans and instructional material for an average of 7-8 students, with a maximum amount of 15; in a small group setting.
  • Help students one-on-one if extra assistance is needed on their individual school curriculum.
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on work.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, hospital and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Updating daily attendance and creating daily session reports for each student.
  • Perform administrative duties daily.

Other functions of the job include but are not limited to the following

  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic and ability backgrounds.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • B.A/B.S degree from an accredited institution.
  • DE State Teaching Certification.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
  • Understanding of subject matter relevant to students need.
  • Knowledge and implementation of relevant technology (Microsoft Office and SalesForce) preferred.
  • Perform all other related work delegated or required to accomplish the objectives of the total education program.

Position entails a 40-hour a week commitment, Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
