Expert Systems Engineer - 17741 (Government)
HII-Mission Driven Innovative Solutions Inc.(HII-MDIS) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII-MDIS is currently seeking Expert Systems Engineer to work out of the customer location in Herndon, VA.
The Systems Engineer (SE) shall support developing strategic initiative for the customer and the Intelligence Community (IC) to meet current and future mission needs. The scope of strategic initiatives may include the coordination of design/architecture, development, analysis, and deployment of equipment, projects, technologies, or operations for the use of collection capabilities, or solutions. The primary focus of the SE shall be to bring the customer and/or IC community technical collection capabilities to bear against high priority targets.
In addition, the responsibilities also entail the following:
The SE shall assess internal/external IC members' and/or industry capabilities to develop and evaluation organizational weakness. Where these weaknesses occur, the SE will assist in the development/execution of an action plan to resolve current or future gaps in capabilities.
The SE duties include facilitating changes or modifications in one of more projects to include operational devices and/or solutions to support technical, analytical, or operational requirements.
The SE shall support the following strategic leadership activities: identifying, analyzing, defining, and coordinating user, customer and stakeholder needs, translating them into technical or operational requirements for the research, development, production and/or procurement of processes, systems, and/or services.
The SE shall support the customer's management in identification, deployment, and maintenance of applications, equipment, tools, or systems to ensure proper functionality.
The SE shall conduct information technology (IT) oversight to include systems engineering, integration, technical performance analysis, governance and IT policy.
The SE shall assist with developing strategic goals and objectives; ensuring technical feasibility with respect to strategy; developing and maintaining knowledge management repository; assist with project planning and management; provide program and enterprise integration of projects
The SE shall analyze portfolios of IT systems, tools, applications and develops enterprise artifacts required for implementation; develop standard processes; manage IT portfolios; develop and refine decisional documents for senior-level review; perform resource allocation analysis; develop metrics and provide performance summaries
Required Skills:
At least ten (10) years' experience with at least 5 years' experience supporting the IC
Must have experience with at least one of the following: Systems Integration; Cyber Security; Strategic Planning; Portfolio Management; Technical & Analysis Support; Technology Exploration; Web Development and Administration.
Must have experience with at least one of the following: Systems Engineering; Systems Architecture; Network Engineering; Information Assurance; Compliance Monitoring; Secure Mobile Devices; Operations Research; IC Cloud Services (e.g., C2S and GovCloud); Software Development; Knowledge Management; Strategic Communications; IT Policy Development; IT Governance; Enterprise Architecture
