Mechanic (Maintenance)
In addition to performing maintenance repairs as per the Mechanic Level II job description, the Mechanic Supervisor will maintain LTI, Inc.'s Seattle and Olympia Fleets to the company standard, and will be responsible for daily maintenance activities at LTI, Inc.'s Seattle and Olympia locations. The Mechanic Supervisor will work with operations personnel and vendors to arrange for transportation equipment to be released from service for inspections, service, testing, or repair.
Daily activities will include DVIR management and preventative maintenance, assisting with opening TMT vendor and standard repair orders, ordering and managing parts inventory and driver supplies, and operating and maintaining an LTI, Inc. service truck. Additional daily tasks include assigning work for any vendors working on site and assisting operations with shuttling equipment to/from vendors for repairs.
The Mechanic Supervisor will be responsible for keeping LTI, Inc. equipment operating SAFELY and efficiently while providing consistent repair quality and equipment uptime. Equipment the Mechanic Supervisor will be working with includes class 8 tractors, hostler yard tractors, belt trailers, water tankers, container chassis, flat beds, etc.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Technical School degree in related field is recommended, or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees and customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Employee must meet Department of Transportation requirements and must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License with Class “A” Air Brake.
Employee must possess a DOT brake & annual inspector certificates / Air Conditioning Certificate

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
