Fine Dining Server (Food Services)
Marigold Catering, one of Cleveland's premier caterers, is seeking a part-time individual to assist with fine dining at Severance Hall restaurant.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The position of a Fine Dining Server is to deliver notable service to all guests. Servers must have a keen eye for detail and to anticipate guests' needs. The individual must provide restaurant guests with professional table side presence while demonstrating themselves to meet the Marigold culture.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
• Greet guests in a timely manner: provide excellent customer service
• Monitor and observe guests' dining experience to ensure guests satisfaction
• Full knowledge of all food and beverage menu items
• Prepare tables by setting linen, silverware and glasses
• Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips and/ or memorization
• Relay orders to kitchen and bar via POS software system.
• Inform customers about daily specials; offer menu recommendations upon request; up-sell additional products when appropriate
• Deliver ordered items to correct table and guest
• Assist team members in different departments as needed
• Resolve guests' challenges, involve a supervisor or manager when needed
• Verify accurate prices, state and federal taxes, tips and other charges on all checks.
• Assists guests with orchestra protocols and schedules
• Present bill, handling all cash and credit card charges
• Follow all relevant health department regulations
• Complete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to Severance Hall restaurant standard
• Perform all necessary cleaning tasks as required to maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
• Assists with additional catering events onsite as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must be 19 years or older as required by law
• 2+ years of food or hospitality experience
• Knowledge of alcohol, wine and beer
• Required to work in a fast paced environment
• Display the ability to communicate and interact with a wide variety of patrons
• Must be able to work nights and weekends
• Capability to speak, read, hear and communicate in English clearly
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances and carry and lift up to 30 pounds
• Must have reliable transportation
• Possess a professional appearance and demeanor
• Ability to comprehend simple instructions
• Ability to perform simple math

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, move, push, and/or pull up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
