Under generalguidance, this position is directly responsible for managing the overallequipment efficiency (i.e. productivity, machine availability and quality) ofspecific departments including directing and integrating the use of availableresources to meet established cost standards, as well as coordinatingproduction schedules with other shift operations to meet productionrequirements.
This position alsoplans, organizes and directs the activities of the employees in his/herdepartment(s) and is responsible for the implementation of Human Resource andIndustrial Relations policies established by Human Resources, as well asmaintains effective employee morale and provides leadership to the team.
The scope ofauthority within his/her department(s) includes all manufacturing productionpieces of equipment.
Responsibilities
Reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager. Must be able to deal effectively with shop floor, managerial, and office employees. May deal with vendors or other individuals outside the organization.
Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in relationship to management of subordinates. Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to manage a union and/or nonunion workforce.
Requires a Bachelor's degree. Minimum 3 years of manufacturing and supervision experience, in asimilar machining environment (e.g. CNC lathes, grinders and mills) ispreferred. Strong organizational, humanrelations and problem solving skills required. Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma required Microsoft software experience required(Excel, Outlook, Word). Must beflexible to work required overtime. Prefer work experience in a non-union environment.
