Job Description
Silicon Valley Bank is looking for a Senior Manager in a team that accelerates SVBFG's ability to execute on our strategy, implement our Target Operating Model, and provides direct execution support to the business.
This role reports to the Director of the team, within Corporate Strategy. This person should have the ability to manage implementation of complex cross-functional projects and clearly articulate progress to our executives and Executive Committee.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support businesses and Functions in implementing SVB's strategy of four scaled businesses to support the innovation economy
- Manage intake and prioritization of backlog of projects that accelerate execution and delivery across the enterprise
- Serve as center of expertise for our operating model and execution enhancement and work with Business Unit and Functional leaders to help define project needs and resolve pain points as they arise
- Manage and coach an Associate on both hard and soft skills, ranging from problem-solving and communication to project ideation and design
- Keep Director and internal stakeholders updated on pulse of business and Functions to anticipate project needs as they arise, proposing to step in to help drive improvements as needed
- Recommend resourcing requirements and prioritization of other ad hoc execution and planning support as required
- Work closely with Strategic Planning and Change Management teams
Requirements:
- Professional experience: A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience required, preferably within the Financial Services or management consulting industry
- Strategy experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in strategy or management consulting with experience in operating model, transformation, and change management
- Education: Bachelor's degree and an MBA from a top business school or other graduate degree is preferred
- Mastery of the "consulting toolkit" (research, quantitative analysis, qualitative synthesis, written / oral
Communication, practicality and effectiveness)
- The ability to own end-to-end project management across the business and Functions
- Comfort and facility with both quantitative and qualitative information
- Executive-level presence and communication style
- Development and cultivation of senior-level relationships
