Salary Range:$85,000 - $105,000 (Salary is commensurate with experience)
Benefits:Retirement contributions: 12% (10% paid by the YMCA; 2% paid by the employee per policy) vacation plan, health plan and other benefits per personnel policy.

Minimum Criteria for Candidates:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Personal values consistent with the YMCA mission.
Minimum of five years prior experience in management with direct supervision of multiple levels of staff and employees.
Experience in preparing and managing a budget in excess of $1,000,000.
Experience in fundraising.
Preferred Criteria for Candidates:
YMCA Senior Organizational Leader Certification (Note: Candidates not already in possession of this certification have up to three years to obtain this certification via the Y-USA Training and Leadership Development department.
Other comparable community-based program management experiences, such as demonstrated successful community collaborations, working with a Board of Directors, and advocating for the agency in the community.
Experience in securing grants and other creative revenue streams.
Position Description:
The future of the Wabash County YMCA is a bright one to be led by a visionary capable of steadfast dedication to the three pillars of the YMCA. The successful candidate must possess an ability to build on past successes and guide this YMCA into the future.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will lead the Wabash County YMCA and will be uniquely positioned to champion the YMCA mission of providing a myriad of values-based programs and services for families throughout the area.
Key Deliverables:
•Advocate our Vision and Increase Awareness: Be the heart and soul of the operation and actively interact and communicate with members, community constituencies, donors and staff. Create a culture of excellence within the YMCA and act as an ambassador for the mission and vision of the YMCA within the community. Be seen as a respected community leader while always upholding the highest standards and values of the YMCA.
•Improve Programming and Drive Membership: Increase the visibility, marketing and awareness of the YMCA and its programs and services by developing a multi-platform marketing strategy. Investigate options for strategic alliances with local key constituencies and associations. Increase awareness of the YMCA's dynamic Achievement Gap Programs and opportunities around chronic disease prevention. Augment programs and services to reflect the local community's needs and desires.
•Provide Strong Fiscal Leadership and Catapult Fundraising Efforts: The candidate must have a solid track record of fiscal responsibility and leadership. Important fiscal goals include the creation of a comprehensive fund development strategy to ensure a balanced budget, as well as growing reserves for the future needs of the YMCA. The candidate must be able to
secure grant funding at current levels and ensure current grants are utilized to the best of their abilities. The new CEO will achieve this through his/her skilled efforts in the generation of annual support. Also, the candidate must be skilled in the development of foundation grants, collaborations and creative revenue streams necessary to deliver on the Y's mission and cause.
•Review, Update and Implement the Strategic Plan: Take the lead role in developing and implementing strategy. Work with the Board and the appropriate YMCA staff to develop an annual tactical plan for achieving key YMCA goals and objectives. Remain fully informed of all operational issues and have the keen ability to quickly address any issues that may arise as well as forecast future needs.
•Develop and Manage the Staff Team: Lead by example and remain actively engaged in staff development and performance, leading to superior results in programs, member and community engagement. Create a plan to build unity, encourage teamwork and foster individual staff development. Establish and maintain a culture of integrity, high ethical standards, values, accountability and performance. Evaluate the current strengths and weaknesses of all key staff and create a plan for individual staff development, including any key changes in organizational structure and roles as needed. Encourage the team by creating a spirit of inclusiveness, camaraderie and mission within the YMCA staff.
•Work Efficiently and Effectively with a Diverse Volunteer Board: Provide the volunteer Board of Directors with accurate and timely information so that it can effectively set policy and carry out its oversight responsibilities. Work with the Board of Directors to guide the organization to research each key initiative, build agreement, enlist support from each critical constituency and establish a timeline for completing each aspect of the planning process. Work with the Board to establish an ongoing implementation plan for each major strategic initiative and a process to monitor results. Work with the Board to establish a “best-practices” approach to recruit, train, develop and renew the volunteers on the Board, who will continue to elevate the YMCA's vision and standing within the community.

Established in 2001, the Wabash County YMCA is a safe and healthy environment where area residents come for recreation, sport and education. The Wabash County YMCA works to accomplish the mission of providing programs for people of all ages that enrich mind, body and spirit through a variety of programming including: Active older adult fitness programming, youth programs, aquatics programs, swim lessons, water fitness, fitness classes. The Wabash County YMCA is especially proud of the afterschool program and summer learning loss prevention program. The Wabash County YMCA is proud to continue to invest time and money into the Wabash County Promise. The present facility opened in May of 2009. As a whole, the Wabash County YMCA is more than a mere exercise facility, but an organization where critical lessons in self-esteem, respect, sportsmanship, teamwork and community service are learned. About the Wabash County Area:
Founded in 1835, the picturesque Wabash County is located in northeastern Indiana. It has the best in small-town living, including: friendly communities, beautiful rural settings, a taste of traditional values, rich recreational and cultural opportunities (including Eagles Theater, Charley Creek Gardens, Honeywell Center including the Ford Theater, Charley Creek Inn, Paradise Springs and the Morrett Sports Complex (Outdoor section of the YMCA), diverse work places, and strong school systems. The population of Wabash County is over 32,000 and the City of Wabash is 10,700.
Home to numerous rivers, creeks and reservoirs, the county is named for the largest of these, the Wabash River. Once a part of the ancient Teays River system, now located below the surface of the county's beautiful waterways, the county draws international researchers for its geologic outcroppings. One of these geologic features, Hanging Rock, has been featured in Miami Indian lore. Also along the Wabash River is a River Trail for biking and walking. The southern part of Wabash County is also home to two reservoirs, Salamonie and Mississinewa.
Designated a Stellar Community by the State of Indiana in 2014, Wabash is taking part in numerous community development projects to enhance the quality of life for its residents while attracting economic investment to the region including:
•Multi-million dollar renovation of the 1900s historic Eagles Theatre in downtown Wabash funded collaboratively by public and private investors.
•Wabash was the inaugural winner of the Small Business Revolution Main Street Revitalization providing a $500,000 dollar investment into Wabash's small business leaders through a variety of marketing services and streetscape projects.
•Entrepreneur incubator programs are in full operation through a combined effort between economic development and Manchester University. Wabash City Schools provides entrepreneur programs for high school students.
•Capital projects including an all-inclusive playground ($1.6m project adjacent to the Y) that connects children and families of all physical capabilities a place to play and build relationships. Streetscape improvements and connectivity projects along US Hwy 13/15, gateway installations, and historic building renovations.
Through collaboration and strategic planning the county's tourism organization, Visit Wabash County, reports that tourism spending in Wabash County has increased by $8 million over the previous year.
