Senior Projects Engineer (Engineering)



Position Purpose & Summary

Cargill Friona has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Projects Engineer.  This role will have accountability in the facilitation, development, implementation, of plant capital and expense projects including all contractor management and the administrative duties of capital and expense projects. Role must be a self starter who is results driven. Must have a sense of urgency to execute on project actions and timelines. Must also have a strong developed followup practice behavior. Role promotes and supports good working relationship between production and maintenance, and provides leadership for the maintenance function within the facility. Candidate will manage departmental expenses and capital budgets. Role must have an understanding of HR policies, labor contracts, contractor mgmt. procedures, and EHS policies.

Principal Accountabilities

• 75% Contractor management (ie. submit bids, obtain pre-qualifications and insurance, contractor orientations, onsite inspections, monthly safety meetings, etc.)
• 10% All administrative duties for submitting a capital project through its completion (ie. Initial project submissions, budget tracking spreadsheet updates, progress updates management team, etc. )
• 5% Work with corporate legal to expedite contacts through the project process.
• 5% Oversee the Management of Change process for Capital projects
• 5% - Oversee plant AUTO CAD employee and process

Minimum Required Qualifications
• B. S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil) or 5+ years of managing contractors and projects 
• Experience in equipment installation and building construction
• Budget Experience
• Understanding and knowledge of Industry building codes and regulations

Preferred Qualifications



• Experience in automation of processes 
• Experience at managing multi-million dollar projects and multiple contractors

• 2+ years experience in food processing industryy
