Inside Software Sales Representative (Sales)
DAT Solutions, a subsidiary of Roper Industries, Inc. (NYSE: ROP) is seeking a full-time Inside Sales
Representative to join the Freight Matching Sales Department in Beaverton, Oregon.
Summary:
The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for assuring customer satisfaction by generating revenue
from selling transportation-related products and services to new customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Promotes sales by contacting leads and/or prospects and presenting company transportation
products and services.
• Identifies prospective customers by reviewing lead sources and maintaining/updating current
information regarding prospects and customers.
• Maintains quality prospect relations by establishing rapport with decision-makers and identifying
prospects' specific needs.
• Promotes prospects' product knowledge by presenting company product; including accurate
descriptions of product features and benefits, quoting current pricing, generating sales and
soliciting referrals.
• Increases product knowledge within the market by displaying or demonstrating product features
and benefits, using frequent phone, fax, Internet, and mail contacts with prospects. May attend
occasional trade shows.
• Establishes new accounts by making outbound calls, following-up on referrals, and closing
sales.
• Maintains prospect records in CRM by accurately updating call history and prospect information.
• Recommends feedback for products, service, and policy to Sales Supervisor
• Attends all required sales meetings as requested by the Sales Supervisor and or Sales Director.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree required, college degree preferred.
Knowledge:
A seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization; resolves a wide
range of issues in creative ways.
Job Complexity:
Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
Candidate should demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining and
communicating with both prospects and customers.
Supervision
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Experience:
Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related sales experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write
simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group
situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or
diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized
situations.
