Job Description:
Successful candidate must be able to use computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software, provide engineering design support to design dams, reservoirs and water retaining structures, pipelines, pump stations, treatment plants, site grading and environmental and civil projects. This is a non-exempt, full-time position.
Duties and Responsibilities
Requirements:
Associate's degree of completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least ten years of related work experience, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Routinely uses higher-level commands, time-saving programs and routines.
Experience using advanced AutoCad functions including Sheet Set Manager, Xref manager, Palettes and Design Center.
Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:
Ø Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Ø Excellent communications skills: Interpersonal, listening, oral and written
Ø Skilled in PC usage and associated software including Microsoft Office
Ø Able to generate layout drawings from sketches and specifications
Ø Familiar with design parameters related to heavy civil construction, water retaining structures, pipelines, pumping stations and wet infrastructure.
Ø Knowledgeable of standard drafting practices and procedures
Ø Able to work with minimal supervision, exercise independent judgment
Ø Able to efficiently schedule and manage time
Ø Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ø Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member.
Ø Must be able to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements.
Physical Demands:
Able to concentrate for extended periods of time paying close attention to detail. The work environment does not require much physical movement. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to site.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
This position is in an office environment located in Denver, Colorado. There may be occasional field trips to customer sites required as part of this job, or to a plant where noise and dust may be present. The full-time position is located in Denver, CO.
