About this role
PKL Services Inc. provides F-18 organizational level (O Level) maintenance in support of Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX-9). Work is primarily performed at VX-9, Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS), China Lake, California 93555.
As the PKL Services Inc. Aircraft Logs and Records Technician you will perform a wide range of duties to include database analysis, clerical and administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance, such as preparing reports and correspondence, filing, and typing.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Maintain aircraft and engine logbooks and associated records. Proficient performing all operator, data entry and retrieval functions associated with aircraft recordkeeping. Performing networking functions between individual stations, including analysis and correction of errors caused by software, hardware, or data entry. Transmits and receives data via floppy disk, modem, and other electronic means. Extracts data, formulates and interprets management reports, creates archives, backups, and data saves in support of military deployments and detachment operations. Performs a wide range of clerical and administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance, such as preparing reports and correspondence, filing, and typing, performing data base systems analysis. Any and all other duties as directed by Aircraft Site Manager.
About you

High School diploma or equivalent. Must be authorized to work in the United States. A minimum of four (4) years of extensive experience in performing Data Base Analysis (DBA) functions. Contractor personnel shall be able to satisfactory completion of a National Agency Check Local Records and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI), eligibility for a SECRET clearance. Shall be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems. Knowledge of Navy correspondence and records management procedures and Navy squadron organizational structure/relationships. Will possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thoughts in both oral and written communications. Shall perform requirements in a manner that meet or exceeds CNAFINST 4790.2 series, applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedure (NAMPSOPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and local NAMSOP instructions. Shall become familiar and develop a thorough understanding in order to document maintenance utilizing the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS) OOMA, automated maintenance documentation system within ninety (90) days of employment.
Travel:
Twenty-five percent TDY travel may be required on occasion.

$38.10 hourThis is a full time/ non-exempt/ union position.The company sponsors group medical, dental, vision, basic life paid coverage plans for the employee/family. A variable hourly Health & Welfare benefit is provided. 401k plan offered with a company contribution.Eleven (11) paid holidays per year.Employees will accrue PTO at a bi-weekly accrual rate of 4.85 hours per pay period. (126 hours annual)Up to four paid days for bereavement leave. Paid jury duty for up to one pay period. Up to $2,000 per year for work related education expenses.
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing. Normal color/depth perception and no record of emotional instability are required. Office environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
