To perform responsible planning and construction duties related to removing and installing underground and above ground petroleum storage and dispensing systems, lubrication systems, hydraulic lift systems and other mechanical systems. Work directly with and assists installers and laborers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Installs tanks, piping and other equipment and tests them after installation. Removes and disposes of old equipment. Maintains a clean and safe working environment at all times.
Plans, reviews and develops a layout of each job assignment as directed. Reviews project status with supervisor on a regular basis. Completes all paper work necessary for completion of each job.
Ensures safety procedures are followed on each job.
Operates various power tools, skid loaders, air compressors, forklift, and other related tools and equipment in performing described duties.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
High school education, plus one to three years of related construction experience, or equivalent training and/or experience. In compliance with Iowa Underground Storage Tank Program (IUSTP), requires OSHA certification and completion of tank and piping manufacturers' training program. Good mathematical skills and mechanical abilities. Ability to perform manual construction work and equipment operation as described.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Ability to perform heavy physical labor exerting up to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis and up to 50 pounds of force on a frequent basis performing such tasks as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and fingering.
Works in an environment with potential exposure to fumes, dirt, noise, equipment movement dangers, vibrations, dangerous chemical/solvents, electrical shock, and inclement temperature extremes.
