Advanced Hardware Engineer (Finance)

Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates hardware that interfaces with highly complex software applications within Honeywell PSS/Voice R&D team located in Pittsburgh, PA. You will be an active and integral member of a team to achieve the completion of goals. You will also generate innovative solutions; trying different and novel ways to deal with problems and opportunities.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from an accredited university
  • 4+ years of hardware engineering experience with electronic devices
  • Experience high-speed design, component selection, EMI/ESD, PCB layout, power/audio/RF circuits, or battery technologies.
  • Experience with communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, I2S, SDIO, or PCIe) and wireless technologies (WLAN, NFC, Bluetooth)
  • Experience in circuit simulation (SPICE or similar) and PCB design tools (OrCAD, Allegro, Mentor)
  • Experience in system-level testing, debugging, and use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.)

  • Full lifecycle hardware development experience with a deep understanding of electronic manufacturing processes
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external partners
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in ambiguous environments
  • Experience resolving complex customer issues collaboratively
  • Expert Bluetooth and Wi-Fi hardware integration and testing experience and understanding of device certification processes and requirements
  • Experience with audio electronics including interfacing to speakers and microphones
  • Expert ability to troubleshoot and debug technical issues quickly
  • Experience with system-level testing and verification techniques, including test plan development, test execution, and test report generation
  • Experience trouble shooting complex technical customer issues as part of a cross functional team
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver optimal solutions
  • Experience managing external partners and suppliers such as JDM's
  • Programming experience in Perl, Python, MATLAB, C++ or similar
  • Skill in communicating complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Capability to follow guidelines and ensure efficiency on given project task
  • Develop and support mobile and body worn electronic devices
  • Requirements and design specification selection
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze technical requirements
  • Component selection
  • Schematic capture and PCB/PCBA development
  • Support global certification of products
  • Document and execute functional and performance testing
  • Quality and field support of products
  • Perform failure analysis investigations of engineering and field returns
  • Work closely with outside design and manufacturing partners, managing the design process and ensuring a seamless transition to production
  • Proactively learning new technologies and areas of electronic design
  • Interfacing with contract manufacturers and internal supply chain functions to ensure design for manufacture is incorporated in products
  • Follow the Honeywell design and phase gate release process
