Summary
Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineers monitors networks and geographically dispersed networked sensors for performance problems. Responsible for analyzing problems, perform troubleshooting and incident response on the system, communicate with site technicians and track problems through to resolution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Monitor the performance and capacity of networked systems using a variety of tools.
Identify hardware, software, and environmental alerts or malfunctions.
When an issue is identified, work to determine the cause of the problem.
Triage or troubleshoot problems as they arise; coordinating with third-party vendors, customer contacts, or IT teams.
Carefully track and document all issues and resolutions in detail.
Update the ticketing system with all information and resolution information.
Escalate problems to management, IT resources, or third party vendors for assistance in reaching a solution.
Maintain ongoing communication within the team and externally, to keep all stakeholders aware of relevant issues and appropriate action steps.
Assist NOC Manager in development and mentoring of NOC Technicians for continuous improvement and development.
Aide in the implementation of NOC procedures.
Exercise technical responsibility required within areas of technical competence.
Keep abreast of new technical methods and developments in Communications Networks and Network Monitoring.

Qualifications:
5+ years of experience managing, and supporting communications network infrastructures while employed in a NOC.
Strong ability to diagnose sensor or network alerts, events or issues.
Understanding of common information architecture frameworks.
Experience with Disaster Recovery plans and related technologies.
Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast paced environment.
Strong track record of building and maintaining solid relationships with both internal and external customers and vendors.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Network Engineering or a related technical field required. Will accept CCNA or CCDA Certification plus experience.
5+ years working in a IT or Communications Services NOC.
5+ years of experience as a Senior NOC Technician or Engineer with direct troubleshooting responsibilities supporting an IT or Communications Network.
Language Skills
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.
Must be fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
CCENT Certification or equivalent required.
A Plus certification a plus.
ITIL Certification a plus.
