MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN II (Maintenance)
Role
This position ensures that all company offices and facilities are kept in good repair and functioning properly by performing periodic inspections and upkeep/repairs of a higher technical nature to buildings, facilities, and equipment. Works with custodial staff, groundskeepers, and other service providers needed to ensure all facilities are maintained and functioning properly to enhance the appearance and productivity of the company. Performs minor repairs, not requiring work by a trades person, to building, facilities, and service equipment.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, must be available to work outside normal work schedule
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Performs (general) maintenance and repair of company buildings/equipment and obtains work assignments from the maintenance manager or facilities director. Contacts appropriate personnel requesting service and determines type of service/repairs needed.Acts as electrician in repairing (minor) electrical malfunctions/installing equipment. Provides plumbing duties such as assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems. Acts as a carpenter in the minor alteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, facilities, and furniture. Will perform major repairs, replacement, and provide preventative maintenance to heating, air conditioning, and environmental control systems and oversees the general maintenance of these systems.
Oversees and completes all projects as assigned. Keeps management apprised of all critical issues. makes recommendations for projects to be accomplished during the upcoming fiscal year.
Assists with obtaining information and bids leading to contracts with building service providers needed for the buildings/facilities.
Keeps an inventory of supplies and materials needed for maintenance/repairs. Maintain spreadsheets for items needed for upcoming projects.
Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures
Knowledge & Skills
Experience:
Must have experience and a good working knowledge of heating and cooling equipment, electrical circuits, lighting equipment, plumbing and mechanical systems. Experience with operating an energy/building management system preferred and experience estimating maintenance and repair costs is considered an asset.
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
Certification in HVAC required.
Knowledge of electrical; plumbing; building management systems is preferred.
Must have a valid drivers license.

Work involves personal contact with others both inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information, as well as updating or referring, which typically require short discussions.

Physical Requirements:
Able to stand, crouch, and climb to perform repairs, use ladders, and perform various types of manual labor with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 1 hour per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must have manual dexterity sufficient to use hand tools.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise and will be called upon to work outdoors in inclimate weather as well. May be called upon to work during evening and weekend hours when emergency situations occur or when there are service disruptions.
Heavy travel up to 90% for maintenance needs within the branch network, as required.
