Golder is seeking a self-directed, hands-on, Environmental Scientist to join our Irvine, California team. The position will focus on the execution of assessment and remediation projects for our diverse range of national clients that have operations in and around Southern California. This will include developing proposals and work plans, control of budget and schedule, maintaining technical quality, and working in a fast-paced, but team-oriented, environment.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and will work under the direction of our senior leadership on a wide variety of environmental projects. This candidate will also be knowledgeable of the regulatory requirements establishing the need for and governing site assessment and remediation. Further, the candidate will be familiar with the human health and ecological risk assessment processes and will understand how environmental assessment supports those processes, and how they in turn provide the basis for remediation. It is expected that the successful candidate will have experience with a wide-range of contaminants (e.g., petroleum, chlorinated solvents, pesticides, PCBs, metals, emerging compounds) and media (e.g., soil, groundwater, soil gas, sediments, storm water).
