You will perform work for all aspects of database administration - design, documentation, implementation, maintenance, scripting, coding, backup/recovery, security, and integrity. This position requires good technical, customer service, and organizational skills to support Systems Development and Systems Infrastructure. Also, the ability to function successfully in both team and independent work environments. Essentially, will keep databases up and running smoothly 24/7 with a goal of providing seamless flow of information throughout the organization Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, install, document, manage and maintain staging, test and production databases for maximum performance, scalability, flexibility, and reliabilityReview and approve all proposed changes to database schema, tables, stored procedures, user-defined functions, SSRS reports, etc.Analyze and recommend database improvementsEvaluate and recommend new database technologiesCollect data in order to evaluate and optimize DBMS performanceMonitor system resource utilization and trending for future capacity planningInstall, test and maintain DBMS and application software including patches, fixes and version upgradesDevelop, manage and test database and information system backup and recovery plansDesign and implement processes and procedures to reduce and eliminate database outages and downtimeMonitor and support availability groups and failover configurationsMonitor and support transactional replicationDesign, implement and maintain database security strategies that provide the appropriate level of security for users and applicationsEnsure appropriate security and privacy measures are implemented on technology solutions to protect company data from intentional or accidental misuseManage and audit database permissions and accessImplement and maintain database security and encryptionAnalyze query plans and tune application performance by optimizing SQL codeMonitor database logs for hardware, memory or disk space/capacity issues and take appropriate actionReview and implement database parameter and configuration changes for optimal performance with the host operating systemDevelop and maintain scripts to automate SQL administration tasksEstablish and enforce rules, standards and policies for overall use of databases to ensure complianceRecommend procedure modifications or improvementsResponsible for instance planningStay current on the latest technology trends and innovation to provide insight into strategic and tactical decisions as needed Qualifications Oracle, Microsoft Cloud experience Data Warehouse experience BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Database Management, Computer Science, or related field (relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree)Minimum of 7 years professional experience
