Position Purpose
The Ophthalmology Technician plays an integral role in the advanced veterinary care provided by Central Texas Veterinary Eye Care. This role goes hand in hand with our purpose statement of enhancing the quality of life for our patients. The objective of this position is to plan, coordinate and perform a variety of duties concerned with the animals' health, ocular presentation, and client education. These objectives support the Central Texas Veterinary Eye Care, PA to assure quality of patient care and promoting greater efficiency by relieving veterinarians of technical work and administrative detail.
Responsibilities and Duties:
All duties are performed under the supervision and direction of a licensed veterinarian as specified in the Texas Administrative Code of the Texas Veterinary Medical Board.

Physical Effort
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the primary functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to bend, stand, stoop, walk, talk and listen; may require extended periods of time on feet. Use hands to manipulate, handle, feel or reach with hands and arms. The employee is often required to lift and carry animals or materials up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Veterinary technician experience required. Basic math and computer skills, customer service and communication skills are a must. Special interest in Ophthalmology preferred but not required.
